Chakra Healing: Learn How to Clear the 7 Chakras in Your Body

Chakra Healing

Attaining complete physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well being becomes easier when there’s free flow of seven energy channels within our body.

Chakras are energy centres within the body located near the spine. They are associated with physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual elements of the body.

Each chakra is related to a particular area of the body and is connected to different energies within the body. They are believed to be responsible for maintaining health, balance, and vitality in the body.

Chakra Healing

Chakra Healing

Chakra healing is an ancient technique of energy healing used in many Eastern spiritual traditions.

It focuses on the body’s seven powerful energy centres which are believed to contain and govern vital life-force energy.

These chakras are believed to be connected to physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Through the process of chakra healing, practitioners use specific techniques to help open, balance and energize the chakras so that their energy may flow freely, helping to promote physical, energetic, and emotional healing.

Chakra healing involves the use of healing techniques such as meditation, visualisation, crystals, breathing, affirmations and essential oils to clear, open and align the body’s energy centres.

This can help to promote balance and well-being within the individual. Regular chakra healing can help to heal physical ailments, manage emotional issues and develop spiritual awareness.

Techniques specific to each Chakra

Root Chakra:

1. Use colour therapy

Using the colour red and/or black to heal the root chakra is a powerful way to restore balance and open this energy centre. Use crystals that are red and/or black in colour, and spend some time visualizing these colours flowing throughout your body. Focus specifically on the root chakra and use the power of the colours to bring back balance and harmony.

2. Get grounded

Get rooted back into the physical realm and your body. Spend time outside in nature, feeling the Earth beneath your feet, taking in the sights and sounds of the environment. This can help to bring clarity to the root chakra and open up any blocked energy.

3. Create anchoring rituals

Anchoring rituals are activities that help to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. This can be something like going for a walk each morning or taking a few minutes to meditate or practice yoga. Engaging in activities that bring your attention and consciousness back to your being can help to heal the root chakra.

4. Affirmations for the Root Chakra

Using positive affirmations is another powerful way to heal the root chakra. Spend some time writing down positive statements related to your needs around safety and security such as “I am safe” or “I am secure in who I am.” Reading these affirmations out loud to yourself can be very grounding and connecting.

Sacral Chakra

1. Meditate

Take time to sit and focus your attention on your breath and simply observe your breathing and how the energy of your breath moves throughout your body.

When you feel settled, focus your attention on your lower abdomen — the home of your sacral chakra — and imagine a bright, orange ball of light radiating from that area.

Notice any sensations or emotions that arise and observe them without judgement.

2. Journal

Writing down your thoughts and feelings can be a great tool for releasing and clearing blocked energy, allowing it to move freely through your system.

Try writing out what emotions and beliefs you hold that might be blocking your sacral chakra — such as lack of pleasure or resistance to change — and then consider what would be better used in its place.

3. Exercise

Any physical activity, from taking a walk to doing yoga, can help to balance your sacral chakra.

Move in ways that feel natural and enjoyable, and focus on the flow of energy through your body.

4. Spend Time in Nature

Spend time in nature, such as walking in the park or a pleasant garden, to naturally release any energetic blockages that may be trapping your sacral chakra.

Notice the sights, sounds, and smells of nature as you take in its beauty.

5. Eating Habits

Eating a healthy and balanced diet can also help to clear and balance your sacral chakra.

Try to include foods that stimulate your senses such as fruits, vegetables, and spices.

Solar Plexus Chakra

1. Express Your Feelings

Find healthy ways to express what’s bothering or exciting you, including talking with a trusted friend and writing in a journal.

2. Practice Breath Awareness

Spend some time each day focusing on your breath and moving energy through your solar plexus chakra.

3. Exercise

Exercise can be a great way to release tension and stagnant energy.

4. Take Time to Connect With Your Core

Take time each day to get centred and connected to your core, noticing sensations in your solar plexus area.

5. Create an Offerings Altar

Create a special altar that’s devoted to the solar plexus with items related to wisdom and personal power.

6. Balance Your Diet

Eating healthy whole foods can help fuel your energy and empower you.
