Indian Heritage is all about the inherited traditions, monuments, architecture, dance, music, art, objects and culture. It is about preserving, restoring and practicing all the above things and taking it forward. India has got a very rich cultural heritage due to its diverse and colourful history. Some of the beautiful natural and manmade sites in India has been enlisted as a UNESCO world heritage sites. Music, art and dance form an integral part of our heritage and culture. There are innumerable forms of folk and classical dances in India. Indian classical music is world renowned, in northern India Hindustani music is more popular whereas carnatic music is famous in south India. Various art forms like Madhubani paintings, miniature and cave paintings go back hundreds of years and form a part of our heritage. Indian literature also forms a very important part of our heritage. The Vedas and ragas and many mythological scriptures have deep history embedded in them.
